The U.S. Men’s National Team won Group C and advanced on to the second round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a dramatic 1-0 win against Algeria. Despite numerous attacks, the U.S. was held scoreless until Landon Donovan scored in the first minute of stoppage time to put the U.S. on top. The victory, combined with England’s 1-0 win against Slovenia, gives the U.S. first place in their group for the first time in modern U.S. World Cup history. They’ll play next on Saturday, June 26 against the runner-up from Group D.
